Album Release

Project Management

Album Release Workflow

Project Management for a record label must be a well oiled machine.

When I first started at the label it was just the owner and myself. Over the past 8 years the label has grown to a staff of 26 employees.

Planning: The first step is to plan out the release timeline. This includes setting a release date, determining the marketing strategy, and creating a budget.

Content Creation: Next, it's time to create the content for the album release. This includes recording, mixing, and mastering the music, as well as creating any accompanying videos or artwork.

Marketing: With the content created, it's time to start marketing the album. This includes creating press releases, reaching out to media outlets, and promoting the album on social media.

Distribution: Once the marketing is in full swing, it's time to distribute the album. This includes getting it onto streaming services, physical distribution, and making sure it's available for purchase through various platforms.

Sales and Analysis: Finally, after the album has been released, it's time to analyze sales data and adjust the marketing strategy as needed.

Campaign Assets

I gather all marketing assets needed for any online source such as Spotify, Bandcamp, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, Mailchimp and any media articles.

All releases will recieve a one-sheet. This is a PR process where we pitch our release in the simplist terms possible. During this process we print out the sheets and mail test pressings to local shops, radio stations, sync brokers and artists.
